I found this book to be entertaining and informative. There is a chapter solely dedicated to the gaits of our horses which includes visual depictions of each gait to help those of us who learn better by seeing examples. In Heavenly Gaits, Brenda Imus describes all the gaits and tells us how our gaited horses came to be.

Heavenly Gaits dedicates individual chapters to many different historical and influential gaited horses and for the Saddlebred enthusiast you’ll find a good portion of the book to be right up your alley. I’ve heard of many great names in Saddlebred history. Thanks to this book, now I know thier stories as well. Not only are we familiarized with great Saddlebreds of the past but we are also introduced to notable trainers from the past and some that continue to influence our horses today. In our mission to breed the best, knowing the past will help improve the future and Heavenly Gates does a great job getting that point across.
