Ha, by the end of August most in New England are hoping for that first frost as we have had it with heat, humidity and bugs. However, our winters sure are long!!!!!!!

Default triple window?

I bought new Hansons windows, will install new triple windows in end of July or early August, they will keep cool in summer and warm in winter.
My old storm windows and windows are fell parts, hard find parts at hardware. Still wait for new windows...sighing little bit
I will upgrade okay
Anyone have triple windows, the weather bother the windows, huh

I simply couldn't live where you do with winters that are that brutal and last that long. I've found I can always do something to cool off, but I can't always get warm. We are lucky we don't have very many bugs here. We have a pond that is full of frogs. I've never been bitten by a mosquito here. My mom lives on the back of the farm and I know where the mosquitos are! If I go to cut her grass, I have to cover myself with spray.

Mosquitoes are the state bird in Maine!!! But lately it's been an outbreak of deerflies that drive the horses crazy. They really don't pay any attention to any of the fly sprays and the humidity has been awful. Just a trip to the barn to feed and do 4 stalls and I'm soaked and have to change clothes again. Now when I go an hour inland to a show and I'm not right here at the coast the humidity is much better. So it must have something to do with the ocean. I do now understand why I saw so many people at Lville working horses at midnight!!!

The only time I'm really cold in the winter is if I'm standing around outside and not moving. I even wear a lighter winter coat to do stalls because I get sweaty in a heavy parka. Of course the houses are really built to keep the cold out. Now I do wear gloves all winter but the knit hat usually comes off when I'm doing stalls unless it's below 10 degrees.
