Fortunately, we're a little south of all the snow (not by much!) and all we've gotten is rain. And more rain. And even MORE rain. I am SO SICK OF RAIN!

The horses all have snorkles and fins, and feeding must be done by rowboat.

It's ridiculous the amount of rain we've gotten here in Eastern NC since November. Yeah, upside is grass is going to be AWESOME (if the rain didn't wash all the seeds away!)

And then there is the issue of lack of sun and wind. It's just miserable!

I hear ya!!! We are getting MORE rain tomorrow! It hasn't completely dried out around here since well before Christmas. I know this because I had to have the washer worked on in our guest cabin in November. They still didn't get it fixed but I haven't been able to call them back out because they will get stuck in the mud trying to go down that drive! The 90 day warranty has just expired because of all this crappy rain! My truck looks like all I do is drive thru mud and I'm ashamed to drive it anywhere but there's not much point in washing it.

Rain, rain, GO AWAY!!!!!

I'm happy to report that I can still see lots of bare ground here in Maine. It's frozen solid but at least we don't have feet of snow and even this next storm is only going to bring an inch or two. Kind of makes it feel a little like spring.

Simpsonville is covered in heavy, wet snow. The roads are craptastic (seriously - they were telling us that we would have Lots Of Snow and the counties did NOTHING to prepare).

I HATE WINTER!

We got quite a bit of snow in Lexington (everything is closed today). I went back to bed for a few hours and got back up and was greeted with...rain? Yes it has warmed up just enough to rain and make a lovely slush. This is going to be fun when the temperature drops again in a few hours (if it actually does... Supposedly is going to be in the mid 20s).

We're still digging out from almost 2 feet of snow and we expecting another 8 to 10 inches today, into tomorrow. I'm ready to take my husband and cat and leave everything else behind and get the hell out of dodge.

Well, one thing I can say is at least in our area, everyone is prepared and desensitised to it. 28 degrees feels warm, and a couple of inches of snow makes everything look fresh again. I have to say I prefer this to the mud and gloom of March.... but that's a-comin'

I wonder how many thousands of dollars I've spent winterizing my life, and what you all in warmer climates spend your extra cash on

Oh wait, Air Conditioning.... no, I have that too, so that doesn't count. You're still ahead of the game.

It's just a beautiful winter day in Maine today. Very sunny, cold but hey it's winter. Most of the field across the street is snow free. Almost feels like spring (until you step outside). I'm really enjoying this break from the snow. I do have to say that I feel sorry for you all down south. At least here every little town has big ole plow trucks and sanders and they clear the roads so fast that it almost never slows anyone down.

To you folks down south of here, just think about starting with that kind of snow in Dec. and it keeping up until the end of March. That's our usual winter. Then it is followed by Mud Season, the 4th of July and back to winter again. lol

Anyway, thanks for taking all the snow and giving us a cheery little break up here.

I was amused last night to notice that despite the fact that nearly everything in Lexington was shut down yesterday and the roads were pretty much sheets of ice by 8p.m., Rupp Arena was still full for the UK vs. Alabama game last night.

And yes, I was one of the people willing to risk life and limb on the skating rink that was downtown Lexington last night to go to the game. The main roads weren't bad this morning, but it's still snowing.

This is going to make moving into the new house on Friday really interesting.

We got just a few hours of snow today and it's not even enough to cover the ground. Can I just tell you how much I am loving this lack of snow. Of course it will make up for it between now and April.
